Welcome to Peace of the Ocean: one world. one people. one ocean.™

As we are all one, so is the water. This is an organization for everyone in the world to get involved and make a difference for the health of the oceans. For those who may not be on the ocean's edge but understand our connection to all life and water, and are willing to make a difference. It is also for those who live by the sea who want to make an impact in their own immediate environment, as well as continuing to do so as they travel inland. stone pier into the ocean

Time to come together, you and me, for the health of the deep blue sea

'Oh, I’ve heard of the garbage patches,'
one once said to me
'there are piles of garbage floating,
but what has that got to do with me?'

'I live so far inland
my garbage won’t reach the sea.
It’s the people living on the ocean
that created it to be.'

I asked, 'How do you not know
It didn’t come from you or me?
Have you ever followed a piece of garbage
from inland to the sea?'

There are winds, gutters and sewers
that can carry a piece, you see,
farther than one may realize,
from inland to the sea.

Streams become rivers,
to bays and then the sea.
Things can travel so much farther
than the eye can see.

For everything is connected.
People, like you and me,
and every drop of water
is a piece of the deep blue sea.

We are all responsible
for whatever may be.
Making wise choices everywhere
is really the whole key.

All life is connected,
from the smallest ‘A’ to the biggest ‘Z,’
And all life is dependent on water
and the health of the sea.

It’s time to work as one
and change what came to be,
a world no longer thinking ‘I,’
but coming together as ‘we.’

Dedicated to all of the wildlife affected by the oil:

pelican looking out at the ocean

It’s dark up ahead,
I can no longer see.
It’s getting harder to move,
there’s something covering me.

It’s getting harder to breathe,
the smell is so strong.
I’m suddenly blind and can’t swim.
Help, there’s something wrong!

I’ve lived in this water
ever since I was small.
It was clear, blue and clean.
Now, I don’t recognize it at all.

I’m sinking to the bottom,
I can’t fight anymore.
Please do something to save us,
before it goes shore to shore.

In this current situation with the oil in the gulf, it’s hard to do a lot when you don’t have the expertise to make it stop. One can only pray, that we all work together, and that this gets resolved as soon as possible. Yes, people need to be held accountable, and so many things need to change. Now, we have to work together, get this stopped and cleaned up, and make sure it never happens again. Feeling helpless watching, know that every other thing you continue to do to make a difference is still worth it. The oil is creating enough of a problem for all life in the ocean, let’s make sure nothing else makes it’s way there. Let’s work to get it clean and keep it clean. May we become a world driven by love rather than money. It’s time for a change.
