sailboat in sunset Hi Bobbie Jo,

I think you took a wonderful stand with that web site.

Speaking to everyone who may see this site, sometimes we do not often grasp the gravity of a situation unless we are right in the middle of it. The people of our country need to realize that a situation like the oil spill is something that affects all of us. For those closest a way of life is lost for now. Beyond that the sea food and sea creatures that are being destroyed are having massive impact on people in the food service business all across our nation. The impact is unimaginable for those people and creatures that live in and around the surrounding areas, as they watch their vibrant color world be reduced to a frightening black and white.

From our little island we have been watching this problem as close as we would a hurricane. Some of our people have already left to go and help. We have salvage ships from the Carolina's and further that are docking here to get supplies and head into the nightmare Gulf to offer their assistance. Everyday we witness so many more that want to lend a hand through their area of expertise or by whatever means they can.

It proves one thing, there is still pride in the American heart and spirit, and our prayers lead to awareness and action. People taking time to create web sites like this with insight that provokes thought and poems that drive passion, these people help to make desperate situations like these not just a reality for all of us, but a part of our world for all of America and the world.

I applaud you for this site, and I hope it touches others as it has touched me.
